TechStone Mineral Sand Flooring introduces material warmth, tactile quality, and considered surface character to the architectural floor plane — a design element in its own right, not merely a practical substrate. Available in multiple aggregate grades and colour blends, the system ranges from fine, near-monolithic surface expressions to bold, coarse-grain compositions with pronounced aggregate visibility and texture. Slip-resistant by the inherent nature of its aggregate surface, Mineral Sand Flooring suits residential entry halls, commercial lobbies, hotel terraces, pool surrounds, and high-traffic hospitality circulation spaces where safety and material quality are simultaneously required. Colour, aggregate scale, and joint layout can be coordinated with adjacent wall finishes and lighting to produce a spatially cohesive result.

STEP 1

Surface Preparation -- Ensure substrate is solid, flat, dry, clean, and free from oil, dust, cracks or loose matter. Fill any cracks with anti-crack mortar and smooth. Surface must have pH < 10 and moisture content < 8%. Ambient temperature must be 5-35 C with humidity below 85%.

STEP 2

Primer Application -- Apply one coat of exterior transparent primer evenly across the prepared surface using a short-hair roller or spray equipment. Ensure complete and uniform coverage with no missed areas. Allow 4-8 hours drying time before proceeding.

STEP 3 (OPTIONAL)

Design Joints (Floor Applications) -- Draft desired design joint pattern. Fill design joints with chosen colour paint. Apply masking tape to secure the joints before main coat application. Remove tape after main coat is dry to reveal clean joint lines.

STEP 4

Main Coat -- First Layer -- Do not add water to the material. If separation has occurred, mix with a blender for 1 minute. Apply first layer at 1.5-2.0 mm thickness using a stainless steel flat trowel. Coverage rate: 1.5-2.5 kg per square metre. Allow 12-24 hours drying time.

STEP 5

Main Coat -- Second Layer -- After first coat is fully dry, flatten the surface with a flat trowel. Apply second layer at 1.5-2.0 mm thickness. Allow 12-24 hours drying time. Do not proceed to top coat until main coat is completely dry.

STEP 6

Protective Top Coat + Hardener -- Mix 5 kg Top Coat with 1 kg Hardener, stirring for 1-2 minutes until uniform. Apply 2-3 coats using roller or spray with 3-4 hours drying between each coat. Use mixed product within 1-2 hours. Do not add water.

STEP 7

Post-Application Care -- Do not walk on or scratch the surface for 5-7 days to allow full cure. Full system cure is 7 days at 25 C. Clean with water or mild detergent only. Schedule annual inspections and general building clean every 3 years.
